Asian Buddhists

Buddhist funerals vary greatly according to the country of origin of the Buddhist concerned.  For example, a Thai funeral will be very different from a Chinese or Tibetan one. If possible a monk from the relevant tradition should be contacted.

Unfortunately it is often the case that there are no local monks or, it may be that they do not lead funerals. In that case I am very willing to help.

I am not a monk myself, but will do all I can to incorporate traditional elements in the ceremony. These can include being present when the body is placed in the coffin, ceremonies at home or at the crematorium, and burials.

I have conducted funerals for both Chinese and Vietnamese Buddhists.
