img_0300.jpgIf you are looking to arrange a funeral for a Buddhist the first thing to do is to ascertain whether the person who has died belonged to a particular Buddhist group or had an affiliation to a particular tradition i.e. Zen, or Theravadan.

In that case, the first port of call would normally be that group because they might have someone who leads the funerals for their members.  If they don't, then you are welcome to contact me.

I have led many funerals for Buddhists who do not belong to any particular group. One of the main things to bear in mind with these funerals is the fact that many, if not all, of the other people present at the funeral are not Buddhist themselves.

My aim is to try and conduct the funerals in the spirit of Buddhism but not in a way that would leave anyone feeling alienated. I try to explain basic Buddhist concepts in plain language that everyone can understand and try not to include any exotic rituals.
